The artist has handed over the complete sum of his £25k award winnings to the MVT, which operates to save the UK's small concert spaces.
He was presented with the prize on October 16 as his latest record his work was named the best record of the last 12 months.
The musician has chosen to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in appreciation of the vital role small stages had in his beginning days.
"I personally would not have achieved this success if it weren't for all the performances I played around the North East, and beyond, when I was just getting going," stated Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are struggling."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.
In the last year, well-known musicians including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to help venues survive, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which goes to help smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also joined in, collecting more than £100,000 on his live tour to help thirty-eight grassroots venues across Britain.
The donation supported locations that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties stemming from floods, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and neighbor objections.
Some locations obtained monetary aid in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that positively impacted musicians and fans.
"The concept that money from performances in big venues helps the independent spots, where it begins for artists like me, is just logical," the star has commented.
The musician is far from the only musician to give his award winnings to charitable organizations.
In they received the trophy in 1996 for their record the album, vocalist Cocker declared that the band would contribute their prize money to the organization War Child.
In 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite divided her award between a few organizations, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"And I donated a grand to my local community centre, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked better apparatus," she told outlets.
Previously, Ezra Collective donated their winnings to the youth organization that nurtured their band, as well as other local music groups.
Also winners that year the group contributed their prize to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was identified with the condition.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," said artist the singer. "The money was the bonus but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our victory impacted another person's life."
Last week, the MVT revealed it had saved two grassroots venues in that region, by bringing them into community ownership.
The Joiners in the city and the other in the city were purchased under the community ownership program, which is funded by a national body and enthusiasts who acquire "shares" in the properties.
